If you have a GT400 or are intending on buying a GT400 kit and you find the brakes supplied with the kit (which is a skid for the front wheel) not up to standard, then let me share a bit of customisation that I undertook during construction of my latest GT400 using the horizontal Black Max master cylinder. It is a lot easier to do this before you install the pod.

I used a piece of 50 x 50mm square tube and fixed it to some some U bits connected to the flap handle bracket (which is a mod you can do in place of the overhead flap handle, which does not come with the standard GT400 kit) using the same rivet holes, plus an extra bit for the back connecting to the seat bracket for torsional strength. I used the redundant overhead flap handle for the lever, or you could make something similar.

I made a bracket that goes on the bellcrank bracket to hold the fluid reservoir. It is all nicely out of the way and you can reach the brake handle with your harness on.  It should stop the GT400 “on a dime”.
